 |
| Adam Ashenden has recently
been appointed as product manager for fibre. This move

after its £0.5m investment in 2000 in a custom-built facility
for the termination of fibre optic connectors, with auto

Adam
has been working in the fibre optics industry for seven years and
joins Greenwoods from an established fibre optics catalogue distributor,
where he was sales manager. Adam assisted in the design and specification
of fibre optic solutions and offered technical support for various
blue chip telecom companies.
When asked about Greenwoods' position in the fibre market, Adam commented:
"The fibre optic market moves quickly as fibre optic parameters are
pushed to increase traffic and bandwidth. Greenwoods has made a significant
investment to support this rapidly changing industry. We have an excellent
fibre team comprising product specialists and skilled fibre installation
engineers. This combined with our custom-built fibre facility makes
Greenwoods a strong force in this complex industry. I am looking forward
to spearheading Greenwoods' fibre initiative and feel extremely positive
about our capabilities in this area." Greenwoods
has the ability to offer complete fibre solutions, from designing
and consulting to supplying, installing and commissioning the fibre
system. Jim Copp, fibre optic installations manager explains: "The
company is able to provide chromatic dispersion and polarisation mode
dispersion to ensure a complete network fingerprint, a must due to
high end data rate transmission of new generation W.D.M and D.W.D.M.
Our expertise in providing fibre solutions has already taken us to
telecom sites in over 20 countries, including many European destinations
and global locations including the USA and Australia, where we have
installed and commissioned fibre systems for leading telecom operators." |
