Data Install Sets Standard
| |
|
 |
| A data installation has
recently been completed by Greenwoods at two sites in
London for a major network operator. The customer was
so impressed with our efficient and professional response
that we have been asked to undertake a further data installation
involving the implementation of equipment never before
used by this operator. |

The
initial project involved the installation of data cables, re-cabling
of an existing installation, re-fitting power supplies and ground
cabling. Greenwoods also replaced the current system of flexible fibre
conduit with our own fibre trunking. Gigaduct fibre trunking is our
preferred method of cable management as it provides easy access, improved
manageability and a neater appearance. The installation also included
testing the fibres at two different wave lengths and submitting the
results to the customer.
The second phase of the project, to commence in early December, involves
the installation of equipment never before used in their data networking,
Dragon Servers and Shomiti Taps. The Dragon server is part of an Intrusion
Detection System that detects network attacks, which are then reported
back to the Dragon server for analysis and correlation. The Shomiti
is a security tap which monitors people logging on to the network
and prevents unauthorised access.
Phil Harman, project manager commented, "The fact that we were invited
back to handle another project for the same company demonstrates our
expertise and adaptability, and is a reflection of our commitment
to data installation." |
