Greenwoods
Communications have recently been appointed as an approved installer
for the Midlands region of the NCH charity. Greenwoods is now the
only company installing their data equipment and are currently involved
in an on-going project to install data wiring systems into new premises,
as well as replacing wiring in current systems. Greenwoods engineers
are using partner firm KRONE’s Cat5e cabling to carry out the installation,
which will provide full voice and data capabilities. NCH were introduced
through an electrical contract firm who used Greenwoods for one data
installation during an NCH IT project. The charity were highly impressed
with Greenwoods’ capabilities during this initial project and decided
to work with the company on an ongoing basis. Of particular interest
was the ability to supply all products and the complete installation
service, backed by a 20 year link warranty on the installation covering
the physical hardwire cabling. Greenwoods were also able to provide
advice and assist NCH in designing the physical network.
“Greenwoods have a real can-do attitude and a great deal of knowledge.
They have been a great help in assisting NCH design and plan future
IT networks, and actually carrying out the network installation”
said Dinesh Lad, NCH IT manager (Midlands).
The install was a success and Greenwoods went on to install equipment
at sites in Leicester, Nottingham, Walsall and Derby. These premises
are being configured as individual LANs which are connected to the
rest of the NCH sites via a WAN. Full structured wiring systems were
installed in existing buildings in order to allow integration with
current and future telephone systems and to enable users to connect
to telephone and data points at every desk. This also provides the
ability to make simple moves and changes as users move around the
buildings. After the successful completion of these projects, NCH
appointed Greenwoods as an approved installer, with potential work
at their 52 sites in the midlands region and possibly across the UK.
Wes Walton, Greenwoods engineering systems manager who is managing
the project, commented: “NCH value our expertise and we
have proven to them that solving problems and satisfying customers
is our number one goal. This is the beginning of a relationship from
which we will both benefit. Once a customer becomes familiar with
our high standard of workmanship and capabilities, very rarely do
they stop using us.” |
