TTowards the later part of 2001, Greenwoods recruited
Stuart Fox, who joined as the construction design manager for the
installation department. He has ten years experience in telecoms infrastructure
design and has worked with several of the industries major players.
Stuart designs sub-structure builds for data and telecommunication
sites using 3D modelling and CAD (computer aided design).
Typically, a project begins by providing CAD site-specific drawings
allowing customers to visualise the proposed system before it is constructed.
These designs can facilitate a multitude of specifications including
telecoms or data cabinets, cabling and fibre ducting. Designs will
be produced which maximise the use of critical space in areas such
as switch sites and comms rooms.
Stuart commented, "The use of CAD is excellent in demonstrating to
our customers what we can do and cements our promise to deliver the
total solution."
Once the designs have been produced, the next stage is the installation
of the steelwork, another area in which Greenwoods specialise. Arthur
Copp, Greenwoods external construction manager is responsible for
the field implementation of steel work, construction and quality assurance.
Arthur has worked in telecoms installation for 35 years and manages
PDH, SDH and ADSL projects for Greenwoods all over the world. Arthur’s
role involves de-installations, and installations of all equipment,
cabinets and switches. He can also act as an advisor to customers
on quality and training. Arthur is currently working on an ADSL project
for a multi-national OEM alongside a team of Greenwoods qualified
installers. |
