Cable & Wireless' Global E-Procurement Initiative
| |
|
 |
| Cable & Wireless, the major
global telecommunications business, focused on the provision
of high performance Internet protocol (IP) and data services
to business customers, has successfully built an internal
e-procurement system which it will use to purchase from
its global supplier base. |

Cable
& Wireless who is committed to delivering the Internet promise to
businesses of all sizes, business partners, carriers, services providers,
and the public sector, realises the value of the internet as a tool
to rationalise the supplier base through greater compliance and control
and achieve savings through the efficiency of on-line trading. It
has made a significant investment in delivering the Internet promise
internally, to support their ongoing investment and commitment to
satisfying customers. As
a key supplier to Cable & Wireless, Greenwoods Communications was
asked to create an on-line catalogue with a range of networking materials,
which were added to the Cable & Wireless e-procurement system. Greenwoods
has worked with Cable & Wireless for over a decade, supplying consumable
materials and a range of services which include network installation,
testing and commissioning of OEM equipment and engineering functions,
making the company a perfect choice as an e-procurement partner. Greenwoods
products have now been deployed on the system and the company looks
forward to supporting Cable & Wireless in this pioneering business-to-business
on-line trading enterprise. John Greenwood, managing director, commented:
"We are absolutely committed to supporting our customers
with new initiatives which will improve their business processes.
We also believe e-procurement will play a big part in future business-to-business
relationships and we have invested in our own e-commerce system. We
wish Cable & Wireless every success with their on-line objectives
and will continue to provide any required support on an ongoing basis". |
